Jeff,
The alpine has steel valve seat inserts in the aluminum head, so it is
not as critical as you may think on valve wear. With respect to oil, if
you are experiencing low oil pressure, then I would increase the "oil
weight" otherwise I wouldn't go any higher than 10w40.
