The non-synchro transmission tail housings are very fragile and they
crack easily. Beware when removing the seal to extract it evenly, and do not
to cock it sideways in the housing. The same applies when installing a new
rear seal. Years ago, I sold a fellow three spare tailshaft housings before
I figured out what he was doing wrong.
