True, the plenum on the 300 motor is slightly larger, but I would say we're 
talking an inch or two clearance wise. More of a clearance problem is the 
upper crossover exhaust pipe if your trying to use stock exhaust. A header 
set-up should eliminate that problem too. The big advantage to the 300 is 
availability. Here in the east, two wheel drive, V-6 pickups are almost 
unheard of. Whereas just about every 300 prior to about 88 has a rusted 
undercarrige. I bought my 84 300 "donor" for $200 and drove it home over 100 
miles! The owner got rid of it because it would no longer pass inspection. 
The problem is trying to find a roadster to put the engine into in this area 
that isn't a rusted hunk too!!!!!
