Where I live in Lorette, Manitoba Canada (just outside Winnipeg, our biggest
concern is usually blizzards which may snow us in for a few days, which I
can live with, or spring flooding, from snow melt. Because we are so flat
here, the water gets deep and wide, stays for a few weeks, but doesn't flow
in a torrent.

And although we had a level 5 tornado this summer (the first ever in
Canada )about 90 miles west of here, we don't see much to worry about.
Forest fires usually are in recreation areas or smaller communities, where
evacuations are not of the scale California had.
Hope all is OK with everyone in the area of the fires.
