Stan,

Sorry to hear about your ouch. The tailpipe on our diesel pickup caught Mr.
Hyde in the same manner. Not good, but at least I had not painted the car
yet.

As to your headlight issue. There are two 10 Amp fuses on the fuse holder
in the glove box that run the headlights. Check them out to see if they are
1) there, or 1) blown or making bad contact. That is what is called the
KISS theory approach.

These fuses often heat up quite a bit due to weak electrical contact due to
corrosion in the crimp connections. The heat is enough to melt the fuse
holder in some cases. That is why I have external headlight fuses mounted
under the hood. I have not done other modifications to the headlight power
relays, but the relays are in place and I should have the entire conversion
completed this winter.

There are several wiring diagrams on the web sites, 311s.org, or
datsun2000.com showing these fuses. Since I did some of the schematics on
datsun2000.com I can tell you the fueses on the schematic are shown in the
same location you will find them in your fuse holder. I think the cover, if
you have it, will tell you which fuses you are looking for.

Subject: [Roadsters] Front turn signal problem

Hello all. Well my Roadster is almost finished. Unfortunately when I
backed it out of my very tight garage last week I didn't notice that
part of my rotisserie stand was sticking out and
I put a nice 12" gouge into the front passenger fender :-(

I have a problem and I was hoping someone out there might be able to
help.

My front passenger turn signals (side marker and front parking/turning
signal) will not work.
The rear passenger turn lights as well as the front and rear drivers
signals work.

I have tested all the leads (the two powered leads to the front turn and
the one to the side marker) and I'm not getting any power even with the
hazards on.

The fact that the rear passenger turn lights as well as the indicator on
the dash work fine leads me to believe that I'm not having an issue with
the turn relays.

So, the only thing I can think is that maybe the problem is coming from
the Hazard switch as looking through the schematic I noticed that all
wires go to that junction.

Is there any way of knowing? or, perhaps I'm going down the wrong path.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.
