Front disc brakes

With all this talk about hubs, it reminded me of something that I has
been on my wish list for quite some time.  I would like to put vented
front discs on my TR3.  I see that they are available from some catalogs
for a small fortune.  Do any of you know of any affordable conversions?
Ted Schumacher had once suggested that rotors from a Toyota pick-up
would fit, but I would still need to find  calipers.
