Earlier this year, I picked up a Sony TRV-510 Digital-8
camera at Crutchfield's clearance sale.  We've been using
it for in-car shots at most races this season, and its working
really well.  It uses 8 mm tapes, but records digitally and
does not seem to be too susceptible to vibration.  It is now
discontinued, but you can usually find several of them on
E-bay (as well as the newer -520 and -530 models).
