As the DCTRA member tasked with putting on the AutoX for Triumphest this
year are there any list members beside Joe Curry that are planning on
attending?
The facilities for this years meet are going to be great. All events will
be in the same area where we will have a HUGE tent to house all the vendors
and the social and the dining portions of the weekend. The tent also has a
HUGE parking lot where the cars will be displayed and where the AutoX will
be held. This will be really nice in that all the events will be housed in
one location.
On the topic of the AutoX I am thinking about making two courses inside of
one. The first session will be a basic course for those that want to run
their cars but not push them to the limit (more for the novice) and the
second session would see some cones removed/realigned to open up the course
to allow for the drivers wanting to be more aggressive with their properly
setup cars (read - Joe Curry!).
Any feed back about how you might like to see the AutoX run would be welcomed.
Also - Feeling lucky? We are raffleing off our TR-3 Project car that has
been 12 years in the building. A Minimum of 750 and a maximum of 1000
tickets are being sold. As of two weeks ago over 800 tickets had been
sold. If you visit the website at http://www.dctra.org you can see some
pictures of this car. As part of the theme celebrating 50 years of
Triumphs we will have TS22 on display. This is the second TR-2 built and it
belongs to a DCTRA member.
