At the local club level they don't even have a clue as to racing Triumphs 
anyway.  But it might be a video they would checkout and the next time the 
VARA/HSR guys are in town they might make a trip out to the track to watch.

Burning a DVD - not a CD.  This is not something that "everyone" is capable 
of doing. Whereas copying a VHS tape to another VHS tape is simple.

I don't disagree, but you are forgetting the main difference. We are not 
looking to make mulitple copies of a book or a video.  We have a club 
library that our club historian maintains that has books and videos for 
lending - just like your local municiple library does.  If the book or 
video is out to one club member another has to wait for it to be returned 
before they can use it.

In that example your daughter has violated copywrite but you probably have 
not (that is if the original media and the destination media are the same 
type, meaning not from vinyl record to CD). Which is why I asked the 
question.  Being honest to the producer of the video as to what we would 
like to do with his permission.
