For those that are attending the TRiumph reunion race at the Gold Cup
race at VIR:

There is a Pinewood Derby contest being held at the track, during the
weekend. See the www.virclub.com website and select for info about the
Gold Cup. On that page is another link to the entry form for the Derby.

The event is being held to Boy Scout rules so dont worry about special
bearings, rocket motors, cheater wheels, etc. The rules are very simple
and available from the Boy Scouts and probably many other locations.
Go to http://www.scoutstuff.org/ After entering the website, select
search and search for Pinewood. You'll find a ton of stuff inlcuding a
little book about the rules, etc.

I called our local Scouting agency and discovered their store was
nearby. Went down and bought the cute little book and a kit. It
contains a block of wood(pine), 4 plastic wheels and 4 "alxes" The
rules appear to require use of their supplied wheels and axles.

You may also find "kits" available at local hobby stores, on the
internet, etc.

Battle of Britain will have an entry or two and looks forward
interesting competion from other TRiumph folks in attendance.
