Greetings all,

The following is from Old Car Council of Colorado's first vice-president, Joe
Baker. He is also the SEMA rep. on the Council and involved in a SEMA related
business. He forwarded this from the SEMA Action Network regarding pending
legislation in the U.S. Senate. This looks to be one of the most practical
pieces of legislation to pass over their desks in some time. It can have major
impact on small business and SEMA, is mostly just that. It could translate into
more and better parts and services at better prices. Take a few minutes and
contact your Senators. SEMA makes this easy to accomplish. Click on the link at
the end and follow along. Your participation is most appreciated, Bill

URGENT LEGISLATIVE ALERT

Take A Stand Against Rising Health Care Costs
Support the "Small Business Health Fairness Act"

There is a long-term solution for reducing health care payments: contact your
Representative in Congress and encourage them to pass HR 525, the Small
Business Health Fairness Act.

HR 525 would allow trade associations to offer Association Health Plans (AHPs)
enabling small-business owners to band together across state lines to purchase
health insurance through the nonprofit organization. The legislation should
reduce premiums and provide small companies with greater health insurance
options.

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the bill in 2003 and 2004 but it died
when the Senate failed to act. SEMA needs your help to make sure Congress gets
the job done this time. The first step is to get the bill passed by the House
Education and Workforce Committee and then again by the House of
Representatives this time by such overwhelming numbers the Senate will be
compelled to act.

Contact your Representative in the U.S. House and ask them to support HR 525.

SEMA has made the process very simple. Just click on this link for a sample
letter and to send a message to your Representative in Washington. Simply cut
and paste the letter into an e-mail, or put it on your letterhead and fax it.
Every letter counts! Please help to reduce the cost of health insurance:
