Going one step further, it appears that there
are essentially 4 types of flange shape. They
are J, B, JK and K. According to the info I
have, J is the most common, B is found on
smaller vehicles and JK and K are not very
common and found only on higher-weight vehicles.
I don't know what defines smaller or higher-
weight vehicles as the reference material is
not specific. (Info taken from Bosch Automotive
Handbook, 2nd Edition).
I checked the Tire & Rim Association, but most
of the site is limited to members.
