I really dont think it makes a difference. We have used both. In fact I dont 
remember seeing copper gaskets recently.

We have made and used circular gasket in mild steel in different thicknesses 
with the laser process, when setting liner height. 

In any case, NEVER a problem with sealing at the liner seat, that I ever 
remember.

But Mordy, I suspect, could make you some.
