If the real problem is as Susan described in her original note
(moisture on the soles of her shoes, as from "walking across
dew-covered grass"), I'm surprised that no one's mentioned the obvious
solution:

Don't wear your "driving shoes" while you're not "driving".

Paddling an open car around in the rain, of course, requires a more
elegant solution....
