If you use an aluminum head you have to go with stretch bolts. Does mean the
bolt has 0.8 x 1/2" diameter outside the threaded areas.

To my knowledge, under racing setup, folks have had trouble getting
head gaskets to seal with them.  They don't need as much (or any?)
milling to achieve higher compression ratios, but they have the
reputation of warping and then causing head gasket failure.
