I have a pressure brake bleeding system and to clean it they wrote in thei=
r instructions to use de-natured alcohol and to stay away from isopropyl a=
lcohol. De-natured alcohol is no longer available in California, but it is=
in Oregon, and since Oregon is only 20 miles up the road from me I went a=
nd got some. It is highly flammable, in fact it is also used a fuel for so=
me old style camp stoves, so if you use it, be very, VERY careful. But it =
left no trace of brake fluid in my pressure bleeding system when I cleaned=
it after use. Use it carefully, wisely and make no sparks and you should =
be fine in cleaning brake fluid off your painted surfaces. Just don't leav=
e the rags you use folded up on a work bench. Hang them outside on a cloth=
es line, if you still have such a thing. The de-natured alcohol will evapo=
rate away. Steven Kingsbury BN1 On Oct 9, 2026, at 8:34 PM, Bob Spidell vi=
