hello racers, by the recent discussion on the list about studebakers,
including my own observations of these cars running in altered with these
ducts or vents to help them from lifting ( and help them go faster ), there
is absolutely no reason to call the scta, or steve batchelor about placing
naca ducts in the hood or front fenders of our car, because what these
studebakers are doing is not any more "legal" than placing the same thing
in our car to assist engine cooling (yeah, it helps our car from lifting
too ). in fact, it is really a streamlining modification on the
studebakers, because that modification dramatically relieves the low
pressure area which is generated behind the rear window, and consequently
reduces the coefficient of drag. hey, after all , if they can do it, so can
i - whats fair is fair, (as a matter of fact, there's no reason why i cant
throw a stude style pressure relief behind my rear window too, to help keep
my car from lifting)
