Phil,
We run a Championship Halibrand and have found the "LE" red stuff from
Speedway to be our answer. It is really slick and stays on the gears,
you can hardly wash it off.
As for wheel bearings, GM used to advertise, "nothing rolls like a
ball", however, we run regular tapered bearings, what ever bearing you
run, adjust it properly. Loose adjustments don't necessarily mean it
rolls more freely.
