I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Bourke in the late 1950's or early
1960's. He was living in a run-down motel cabin-trailer park in the Petaluma,
CA (60 miles north of SF) area. My ex father-in-law knew him and thought that
being a motor-head, I'd enjoy making his acquaintance.
It was a VERY interesting evening. The concept was basically an opposed
2-cyl. 2-stroke with a slotted yoke arrangement to convert the linear
movement of the common rod to rotating the crankshaft as I recall. The
concept seemed workable to me. I wonder if anybody ever did anything with it
and what ever happened to Bourke's hardware and patterns..........Ardun Doug
