(the only dumb questions are the unasked ones)
What is the "current technology" on welding cast
iron? It used to be that you could heat it up in
an old oven (or your wife's kitchen oven), braze
it with brass rod, then cool it down slowly in
the oven. What's the hot lick now? I'm thinking
in terms of some OEM intake manifold modification.
