In these days of Republican/Democratic power sharing it is interesting to
note that Mickey Thompson had a two-engined comp coupe that featured a
Chrysler engine, and to make things even, the other engine was a Ford
Flathead. It ran FAST.

Hi Folks, recently got ahold of a great little book via Abebooks.com
that I somehow missed 40 years ago, "Challenger" by Mickey Thompson with
Griffith Borgeson. Borgeson was at the height of his powers as one of
our best automotive writers at the time, and this is a dynamite read.

Thompson seems to have been loved and hated in equal measures in his
day, but he was undeniably one hell of a hot-rodder, doing everything,
up to his 409 mph one-way in his four-Pontiac V-8 streamliner at
Bonneville.

Reason I mention this is to ask if any of the veteran Bonneville men on
this List have any Mickey Thompson stories they can share with us.
Cheers from Ardun Bill in the Great Dismal Swamp, Chesapeake, VA
