Having joined the "Spin-Club" at Bonneville in the early 90's, here's my
brief reflection.
Once the car had swapped-ends and I realized that I was a passenger and
no longer in any degree of control I pulled the QC out of gear, shut off the
mag and the fuel, and waited for the ride to end. My C-4 automatic is a
reverse-pattern, so I abandoned an idea of looking for neutral (located right
next door to reverse) and waited for the odyssey to end.
As it turned out, the car put the heavy end towards the desired direction
of travel making a 180 deg swing, then made a 90 deg swing to the left and
then the right before coasting backwards to a stop directly opposite Gary
Cagle in the timing tower, chattering on the CB about the
incident.............Ardun Doug King
