The Thrashing on my part is basically trying to get a new block prepared for
the Cast Iron D Motor.... I want to run the motor at least once before it
gets set aside again for a Back up....

The Block is at the shop getting it's initial machining to " Race Prep "
it...
it's a 509 cast iron block ( 010, 020 ) four bolt 350.... we are boring it
4.045 and line honing it as we have installed Studs in the bottom end.... My
job once I get it back is tapping it for all the alan head plugs and oil
restrictors in the galley and installing the recipocating assembly to
determine how much it needs to be decked.

organizing the decking has been a hoot.... there are several
considerations.... we are installing plugs/water restrictors in the top of
the block ( head mating area closest to the galley ) as most feel this aids
in stablizing the bores. and these Plugs need to be surfaced and done prior
to the boring process as the Torque plates are going to be used. Well
obviously I can't install an oversize piston to determine the actual deck
height.... so rather then messing with a checking piston.... we are simply
going to lightly surface it.....machine in the plugs..... install the
assembly and then put the dial gauge on it to determine the amount the
pistons are down in the hole and how much needs to be removed to get us
closer to a Zero deck height which we were running with the old block....

other then that I am still cleaning.... installing a set of header bungs for
the 8 EGTs associated with the Quick Data system and generally farting
off...
