Wes, I glad you pointed those thing out.

We went to a meeting last night for the families of the US&R team members
that went to New York.
I was stunned by the amount of community support! We have a full page of
names and numbers to call for anything from mowing the lawn to fixing
plumbing and cars.

An agent from the FBI anti-terrorism group made a chilling presentation.
Ohmar Bin Laden(sp) is just a central figure who has made himself well known
to westerners. He is associated with 6 to 10 other groups with cells in
over 36 countries. The followers of these radical groups are VERY poor,
annual income is in the $100.00 to $500.00 range.
There is one way that a young man can provide for his entire extended family,
food, clothing and shelter for life:
Be killed by the enemy during an attack on the enemy.
He also mentioned a bonus they get: immediate entry to heaven.

Deterrence is a problem. How do we deter a person from hurting us who
want's us to kill them while they are trying to hurt us?
(If I kill them, haven't I allowed them to control me and make me
do exactly what they want me to do?)

He wouldn't say how many FBI agents are currently involved when asked
"Are there more the the announced 4,000?". He did say that 4,000 was just
a start. He made other comments that I took to indicate that no other
country in the world had found a way to bring terrorism to a stop,
no silver bullets, no magic, you must learn to deal with it.

In spite of the bummer reality check from the FBI guy, the meeting
was a wonderful experience for my wife, daughter in-law and I. The
support from the community, as I said, was overwhelming.

America WILL get through this! As they were getting ready to start loading
the C-5 at Travis AFB, one of the Firefighters suggesting contacting
the Red Cross to see if they had any blood that needed to go to NYC.
It was a great idea and an 800 pound shipment of whole blood went with them.

Bryan (who's going to go back to work on his kids car)
