Ed,
       The one Ardun Bill referred to was my Garmin Pilot III. I just used it 
for "giggles" going to El Mirage this past weekend. The "trip-log" function 
gave me the average speed, max speed, and elapsed time (while the vehicle was 
actually moving) for each leg. 
       It also has an altitude function that was within a few feet of the 
Interstate 80 road signs that are posted on the passes between the California 
Bay Area and Wendover.
       I bought it for use in my Cub. It's better than the INS systems we had 
on the 1011 during my past life.......................Ardun Doug King
