Tanis was here on the 3rd for the Awards dinner. I gave her a photo of
herself in the Landracing 299.7 hat and she just laughed. Seems she backed
off when a moth flew into her face in the fifth mile on the return run. She
became a grandmother again the week before the dinner. The car was built in
the sixties but remodeled a few years ago when the tail and side pods were
added and later the Chip Foose designed paint job. The drivers of the car
are as interesting as the car. Jeannie is an MD in Santa Rosa, CA. and her
dad is the one who builds the engines. Tanis has her helicopter pilots
license as well as a fixed wing license. She and Seth are avid pilots.
Their son is another of those who have set records in the car. The
turbocharger installation with titanium plates for part of the mountings is
a compact thing of beauty. They holed the number seven piston big time at
World Finals after having problems with a CV joint at World of Speed. An
unusual situation for that well prepared team.
