According to Hot Rod January 1998, the Kugel/Lefevres Pontiac ran at 98"
wheelbase. Less than 100" is something the Brits can relate to in a
car......
Weight percentages favoured the rear slightly and the side on view shows a
fair amount of body forward of the front wheels. The wheels also 'fit' the
openings (I know it sounds stoopid but they look right for stopping
turbulence) particularly the front. The body length to width proportions
'look' right. Totally unscientific, but the car seems to be built to the
right proportions and the wheelbase is not the complete story for going
straight and fast when 'stock bodied'.
With streamliners length probably assists more, but look again at the older
series of MG cars - 254 mph in something so small....

Why worry about wheelbase if that Kart went 175mph.....back in '65?
