I think it was first used in Vietnam to close wounds. It worked much faster
than sutures but it wasn't "approved" medical proceedure at that time.
Nevertheless, lots of lives were saved by unauthorized use of superglue
(Eastman 910).

Doctors recently have been using it instead of clamps or stitches in some
surgeries.
