mayf,
before you finalize your plans for the tank you might check with
some people who have experience with the heads you are running.
Pressurizing the engine water jacket will reduce or eliminate the
formation of steam pockets around the exhaust valve seats. This can
be critical.

I've been told that some racing engines are pressurized when the are
cold and that great care is taken to get the air out of the system.

It may or may not be important in your application.
