Aternator Drive ?

Talk of parasitic drive loses caused me to think what if. What if I was to
drive the alternator from the driveshaft at the rear end instead of at the
motor? They make yokes with the pulley, usually for driving oil circulating
pumps. There is a company making alternator mounts for the rear end housing.
Would I lose the same amount at the wheels regardless as to where I drive
the alternator?
