Dont know all the details as yet,but Ken Warby has just returned to
Cincinnati, after a three week trip to Australia and he has a big grin on
his face.
Looks like he may have a huge sponsorship deal almost done.
Arrangements are being made for the boat to be shipped to OZ ,for the 25th
anniversary of the 317.60mph record(Oct 8th)and it will be unveiled to the
Australian media on that day,along side "Spirit".
Blowering Dam is empty at present,but test runs,with Dave at the
wheel,will be done at Taree on the Manning river,200 miles north of Sydney.
Taree Boat Club, of which Dave is a member,and the Taree City Council, have
promised full support for the program.
Record runs will not be until late 2004,when the dam is expected to be full
again.
The man behind the sponsorship deal,who actually sought out Ken at a museum
function in Sydney,is due to visit him,in Cincinnati,in a few weeks,for
further talks.
How would you like a sponsor with his own Mig 29 and a bunch of other jets
and helicopters,including two Cobra attack jobs, as well as his real
business interests.
Maybe Dave is already busy getting "seat time" in his other three hydros.
