aero lift will make a "step increase" as airflow exceeds the velocity of
sound in an area where the propagated waves will strike the down-facing skin
surfaces.

Breedloves problem with his rear wheel struts.

Surely you know this, but weren't considering speeds this high--??

I can't think of a case where lift would develop suddenly; it goes as the
square of the speed, so a warning that too much lift was developing could be
seen in the lower-pass runs by looking at that data after the run.
