Keith;

Now that your chassis is down to bare metal, it would be a good time to go
over it-- especially the welds-- with a dye penetrant such as Zyglo. It is
fantastic for finding small cracks that you cannot see with your naked eye!

Then you'd have one less thing to worry about as you haul a** down the long
course.

Okay so I was a bit overly optimistic on how well that sand blasting thing
was
going to do on the chassis... that my friends is a radical
understatement....
you can blast to your hearts content.. and Nothing or dang little will
happen...

Hmmm sooooo now I sit here wondering what I'm going to do with the bit of
mess
that I've created... and my thoughts are to scuff and buff it and shoot the
thing in gloss black and call it a day.... if it's that tough... well it's
not
letting Rust happen and the up side is that everything that's important as
far
as cracks are concerned is down to bare metal anyway... We replaced the
roll
cage as well as the front and rear suspension in the last year .

I did get rid of the little bit of rust that was present in those places
where
changes had been made since it was powder coated... ( ya know where some
yahoo..( like me ) sanded off the coating to weld some new fangled thing on
)

Hmmm oh to the woes of mice and men.

Keith
