Actually it is not even close.. most modern fuels burn at relatively the
same speed. It is all in the chemistry as to how they resist detonation and
octane number is only part of the issue. The best way to go about this fuel
selection is to tal;k to the tech department of the fuel you are planning on
running IE. ERC or VP or who ever. tell them what you have for an engine and
how you are going to use it. They will generally be very helpful. too high
an octane rating generally hurts your wallet more than anything else. Too
low hurts your wallet in other ways..
