Bob, good questions, Dan will make the call but the rule book use to work
from production then to gas coupe then altered etc. Some of the rules may not
have "moved" in the correct direction at the change over. All this to say if
you
look in section 5.D.3 under gas coupes it states "convertibles must run with
the top up." Of course if you notice the rule in GT where it says "non ridged"
tarps can be used it could make you wonder. In the past when we ran car #42 in
GT we wanted to remove the top but had to run in Modified Sports if we did.
It was a Corvette hard top roadster, that was before the rule book was changed
around. Dan it's your call.
