We are setting up our 8.8" Ford differential for the Triumph TR8. I have encountered two schools of thought. One is positraction and the other is aluminum or lightwight steel (roundy-round) spool. My drivetrain guy at Ford Motor Co, Rob Eaton, sez spool by all means for straightline racing. Do we all agree? My thoughts tell me that if the car gets out of shape a spool will be harder to handle.
