Rick, you are on the right track. GerRotor pumps are more efficient at 
producing vacuum but the draw back is they do not move "debris" very well, 
small 
items of trash will pass with a lobe or gear pump that could lock up a rotor 
pump. If you run any standard type dry sump pump look at running the largest or 
most number of return lines you can. Also don't run to small of a tank as 
air-oil separation is performed in and by the tank. If your funds will allow 
you 
might run a pump with an air-oil centrifuge to denariate the oil and run a 
smaller tank, several people like Dailey Engineering make these.
