I'm looking for information, pictures, articles, etc. on a gentleman that
raced or owned a streamliner back in the early '60's. His name was Robert
(Bob) Knapp. He was originally from Calif., I think he owned dyno shops in
Calif, and later moved to Union County, North Carolina. Bob was a member of
our car club and we toured his shop and saw the streamliner. It was a single
engine and supposedly held the record for a number of years before the record
was broken. He always talked about Art Artfonse, spelling???, and I'm not sure
if he was a partner in the streamliner or not. I do remember that there was
three names on the tail fin of the streamline, one was Knapp, the others I
can't recall.
Any information would be appreciated.
