I'm familiar with the running laps routine. I learned that at World Finals
on the short track the last day. Make a Run, while waiting on the push
truck, review the performance data. Adjust the fuel computer while being
towed back to the start line (4 miles @20 mph). Check the truck over (no
trails of fluid on salt,)cursory overview of overall condition, Suit up, get
back in line (no more than 2 deep), repeat. Until I found a broken exhaust
pipe mount. Finished for the day.

Which brings up another question....Do I understand it correctly that the
vehicles(can)stage and return under their own power? Obviously I'm used to
the push/tow methodology. What are the provisions/ procedures for push
trucks? How do I pre-register? The ECTA site has a nice aerial Pix and
layout of the course. Thanks to everyone who have responded.

Actually Glen... all competitors are required to inspect thier tires before
every run... so it's more of an "in theory only concept"

Maxton and El mirage are just differnt and each has it's own merit... we
don't have your history... we also have our own track condition
issues...they are just different...

I do like our abiltiy to rapidly turn around.... but a record on the dirt
has huge merit in it's own right...
