I'm fitting my soon to be restored 1950 TD with English style number
plates just to add a touch of home market flair. The car is a LHD
import model but most locals won't know that only the RHD cars would
have sported English plates. In addition, I've gone so far as to have a
reproduction tax disc made in the same style as was correct for 1950.
Now here's the question. What type of holder was used in 1950 to
display the tax disc? The company which made the tax disc sent a plain
vinyl style holder and I have since purchased a similar MG logo style
holder but I don't believe that either would be correct for the period.
I've seen pictures and have observed several aluminum style holders on
TCs and earlier cars but have no idea where the owners got these
things. Any thoughts or suggestions?
