Hi,

I'm new to the list and already I'm reaping benefits! I have a '76 Midget
that has been with me since 1981. I had to do an engine rebuild shortly
after I had it. I drove it from Vail, CO to Salt Lake City, Utah and used
6 quarts of oil! I haven't driven it much lately although I gave it a new
paint job and other extras. Reading things from the list has renewed my
interest in getting it ship shape. I'll cut to the chase. I'm looking to
get a new top and I've heard good and bad about the tops from British
Victoria. Is there a top that I should consider mroe than another? And
finally, I am looking for more information about my Midget. As I said it
is a '76, but it has a decal or plate IN the dash on the passenger side
that says: 1925-1975 MG. It is in the octagon shape and is gold, it is
not an after market, glue-on type, the dash is formed around the plate. I
sent a letter to the 'Octagon' and never received a response. Can anyone
out there help me? I have seen other '76 Midgets, but never another one
with the plate in the dash.

Sorry, I'm not usually long-winded like this, but I am desperately looking
for answers.

BTW, I would like to buy an older 'B' in reasonable shape, if someone knows
of one that is available.
