I've been experiencing some strange stuff from the brake area of the B that
I can't quite figure. Brake squeal & grind. Once in a while when I step on
the brakes, I hear and feel a clunk, I think from the front, and then a
grinding noise while coming to a stop. The front pads & rotors were replaced
last fall, the rear shoes last summer. The kingpins have been done (and
anyway the clunk is when I apply the brakes not on stopping.
I've found that if I put the car in reverse and stop, then go forward again,
it will tend to clunk & grind, and if I pump the pedal lightly at a fair
pace while applying the brakes it won't grind. I did replace the front and
rear shocks in Dec.
