Thanks to all who sent suggestions for addressing the rear brake lock up
problem I was experiencing on my 66 MGB.

Heavy with work & family commitments, I decided to let a professional take a
look instead of searching for a free weekend to flail. They seem to have
fixed the problem in a way no one suggested, so you may want to add this to
your car problem solution recipe books.

After removing all four wheels, they determined that the FRONT brakes were
working at about 10% - 20% of their potential. This was due to rotors which
were rusted (from sitting out front during our 6 months of winter rain),
warped, and unfortunately, too thin to turn down one more time. The pads all
around were fine. Evidently the lack of front braking power was forcing the
rear brake beyond their potential, and into lock up.

The total prescription was: new front rotors, brake adjustment all around,
flushed brake lines. $270 and 3 hours (Mountain View, CA)

Car brakes beautifully now. I've got to stand on the pedal to make it
lockup.

Thanks to all who offered suggestions.
