     Mose, Brit Vic etc have this kit and it is called a "SU Tool Kit" for 
     about $11.00.  Its easier to use then your ear.  Just remove the 
     plungers from the SUs, place the rods into the dampener well, attach 
     the two pointers to the rods and zero them to each other, start the 
     car and adjust the carbs so that the pointers again are at the same 
     height.

My dad used to have an "SU Tool Kit" when he had his MGA (can't find it now). 
Although I never used it, I believe it may have included some piece that 
indicated the position of the pistons, to be used in syncronizing. Does anybody 
have one of these and use it for this?
