Now I know there has been some number of messages about smog testing in recent
weeks but at the time I wasn't interested in them, only now a friend wants to
know what the requirements are in California.
Let me explain, he is going to be working in California for approx two years
starting in the new year and wants to temporarily import one of his MGBs. What
he needs to know is whether he will run into problems with the California smog
testing since he runs modified engines - stge 3 head, 1950cc, 45 DCOE carb -
and whether the age of the car leads to it being exempt from testing if is say
pre 65.
