A little more on the difference between years thread. First, I don't claim to
be any sort of an expert - I've learned much more from the list than I've
contributed, but I thought '65 was the first year of the 5 main bearing engine
rather than the last year of the 3 main bearing engine. As far as registration,
I owned a '66 registered MGB back in 1976, althought at that time I wouldn't
have known the real year by anything other than the registration. I owned a '67
that was registered as a '68 from '84 to '86 - wish I hadn't sold that one.
I've had my '68 (registered as a '68) since '93, but I really want a'67 too, the
year I consider the best, although I figured '65 to '67 were about the same. I
pick '67 mostly because it's the last year before smog, and the padded dash.
However, in my '68, I enjoy the 4 synchro transmission and the starter that
doesn't chip the teeth in the ring gear and lock up occasionally.

So put me down as someone hunting for a '67, although I'd consider all metal
dash cars, prefer overdrive, prefer originality.
