Midget Alternative Transmissions

A friend of my needs another transmission for his '66 Midget.  I seem to 
recall that there was some recent discussion of the use of a Japanese 
5-speed that could be fitted with some modifications, but I do not have 
all the facts.  Would someone that has retained the postings or otherwise 
has the information please send me the information.
