Michael, what you have seen is a Daimler SP250 roadster, known as the
Daimler Dart in the UK. These were built by Daimler in England,
better known for their limousines. The car was released in about
1959, and remained in production through about 1964.

The car's styling was interesting, to say the least. I've heard it
described as a rolling catfish. The body was fiberglass, and the
frame was a direct copy of the TR-3 frame. The best part of the car
was its engine, a 2.5 liter hemi head V-8! Late examples had some
Jaguar interior parts (since Daimler merged with Jag in the early
60s). Perceived competition with the E-type caused Jag to stop
production of this interesting beast.
