Barry,
One possible alternative for a starter is (of all Places) your local
Advance Auto store
Most times they won't have the starter on the shelf, but can get one through
their PDQ service - Ie. next day store delivery. Best of all, the thing has a
"life-time warrenty".
I installed one in my 72 BGT over a year and 1/2 ago (about 18,000 mile or
so) and so far not a problem. I had one also on my Midget, which developed an
intermittent failure to start problem. I took it back and had no problem
getting it replaced.
