I know the clicking you speak of, and it does not do it when the car =
isn't working. The pump usually clicks a couple times before the car =
starts (sometimes the float bowls are full?). This is one of the =
reasons I'm pointing to the pump. =20
No, my car does not have electric ignition; it is point.

You fail to mention if you can hear the pump working. When the pump is=20
running, an audible clicking noise eminates from the pump. If not, two=20
conditions might exist. 1) The fuel lines and float bowls are full -=20
(the pump doesn't run when the system is "full"), or 2) the pump is not=20
running. To determine if the pump is working, disconnect the fule line=20
at the carb. With the drop in pressure, the pump should begin to pump.=20
If the pump is your culprit, rapping the pump with your tire iron or=20
other similar object will usually begin pumping (and clicking).
Your problem sounds like somthing other than a fuel pump from your=20
description. Has your car been fitted with electronic ignition? If so=20
your ignition module may be overheating. =20
